Notes
Initially, Sergeant Sandlin was a member of the 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was seriously wounded in South Korea on July 25, 1950 and returned to duty on August 18, 1950. He was seriously wounded again on September 4, 1950 and returned on September 11, 1950. He was wounded a third time on September 16, 1950 and was evacuated to the United States on September 26, 1950. He returned to Korea and was assigned to the 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded a fourth time while fighting the enemy in North Korea on April 27, 1953 and evacuated to the US on June 22, 1953 where he died.
